Very often, we wait until people’s cry for help fades into silence, and until their struggle ended in tragedy before we offer our hands, our hearts, and our resources. But what use is money and kindness when it comes too late?
As a health professional, I have numerous conversations with patients about Western medicine. Many believe it holds all the answers — when in fact it does not. When a doctor says there is no cure, it does not mean there is none. It simply means medical science has not yet found a solution for that condition.
In my view, it is a profound mistake when any medical professional steals hope from a patient. Embedding the idea that there is no cure helps keep the patient sick. Hope is medicine.

The aging poor have no voice loud enough to be heard. Without advocates and medical access, preventable decline becomes inevitable tragedy.
The person in need does not require flowers on their grave. They need all the human support now, while they breathe — while they can still feel loved.
It is a mistake when any medical professional steals hope from a patient. When a doctor says "there is no cure" — it means science hasn't found one yet, not that none exists.
